Imagine That You Are a Mountain
Use nature to see through insecure thoughts

We all have our moments. A moment of insecurity that visits and revisits over time — a story that provokes a state of self-consciousness, not-enoughness, incompetence, unworthiness.
When you are next visited by one of these pesky low-mood states consider this:
Imagine that you are a mountain. You are this majestic rise of rock and soil and earth rising out of the earth’s surface, maybe covered with snow; perhaps wrinkled and rocky, carpeted in pine grees. You are the mountain that you admire on the horizon, in the painting, the photo, your favorite recreational spot, or the nirvana of the mind.
Maybe your “mountain” is an ocean, a tree, a baby’s face, the sun rising over tangerine stripes of clouds. Let’s use the mountain to represent the perfection of nature.
Now, imagine — or remind yourself — that you and the mountain share the same living energy. You are the mountain, the mountain is you. If this sounds insane, play a game of make-believe: everything that’s here on planet Earth, breathing the same air, is sharing the same energetic life form. (i.e., One.)
